Folky twang, airy choirboy vocals, and yet quiet and calm are words wholly unfitting
With roots in post-punk and hardcore bands, the members of Dry The River are quite the opposite of what you might expect from a modern folk band. They’ve got the beards, the name, the acoustic guitars and the violin of a folk band, but the intensity of emotion of a hardcore band. Im loving this band right now because they just have a different sound.
Here’s one of my favorite songs by them that really portrays a lot of emotion. The video is a little crazy but for some reason I’m just really drawn to it.
Dry The River was formed in London in 2009. They have released two EP’s and recently released a full length LP in March of this year called Shallow Bed.
